Separate photographs may show the details, but not always where those details are located. A virtual tour preserves that spatial context.<\/p>\n<p>The project team can revisit the captured ship and return directly to a specific room, installation or passageway. This is useful during an inspection or handover, or when a question arises later about the visible situation on board.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"z360-case__note\">\n<h3 class=\"text-l\">A visual baseline, not an inspection report<\/h3>\n<p>The recording shows what was visible at that moment and provides a practical visual reference. It does not replace technical measurements, a classification inspection or a formal handover file.<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl\">Review a ship inspection again<\/h2>\n<p>A physical inspection requires planning, access to the ship and sometimes travel for several people. A virtual record allows part of the preparation to take place remotely. Those involved can review the same spaces in advance and decide where attention is needed during a subsequent visit.<\/p>\n<p>The earlier recording remains useful after work has been completed. Comparing a new recording with the previous situation makes visible changes easier to discuss. The specialist on shore can indicate where the client should look and which visible components to check first.<\/p>\n<p>This prevents misunderstandings such as \u201cto the left of the pump\u201d or \u201cbehind the second panel\u201d when both parties are looking at different spaces. The tour provides context for the conversation. Official procedures, safety instructions and technical documentation remain authoritative for any work on installations.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl\">From handover to visual instructions<\/h2>\n<p>The same recording method can also support manuals in shipbuilding. A client or crew member opens the correct space and can see where a valve, control panel or maintenance point is located. Explanations, documents or short instructional videos can then be provided at that location.<\/p>\n<p>Users do not have to search through a technical document before finding the correct location on board. The virtual tour helps them orient themselves; the manual then provides the precise instructions.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"z360-case__note\">\n<h3 class=\"text-l\">Why we cannot show the ship<\/h3>\n<p>The tour contains spaces and information that must remain confidential. We therefore do not publish screenshots or provide access to the virtual inspection. Only the limited slideshow at the top of this page is visible.<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl\">Visual ship documentation that remains accessible<\/h2>\n<p>A ship changes during construction, handover and operation. A virtual recording preserves one clear moment in that process. It gives a shipyard, owner or technical team a reference that can be opened from different locations and used directly during discussions.<\/p>\n<p>For Damen, the emphasis was on being able to revisit visual inspections. Other shipbuilding projects may focus more on handover documentation, remote support or visual instructions for the crew.
