Virtual tours for Van der Valk Hotels

Virtual hotel presentations that let guests experience in advance how rooms, suites, the bar and lounges connect spatially.

You do not choose a hotel solely by its star rating or a list of facilities. Guests want to experience in advance what the reception, rooms and shared spaces look like. For Van der Valk Exclusief, Zien360 created virtual tours of Hotel Haarlem and Hotel Leeuwarden. In the publicly available Haarlem tour, visitors move independently through the atrium, bar, lounge and a spacious suite.

A hotel experience that begins before booking

A hotel is largely about atmosphere. Photos of a bed, bathroom or restaurant each tell part of the story, but they do not always show how the spaces connect. A virtual tour does. Visitors choose their own viewing direction, discover sightlines between floors and experience the interior in a way that comes close to an actual visit.

Van der Valk used the tours not only to show rooms, but also to convey the warm hospitality and comfort of the hotels. The tour therefore provides a visual introduction to an overnight stay, dinner or business appointment.

Explore the bar, lounge and restaurant

The route through Hotel Haarlem consists of five connected 360° viewpoints. From the atrium, visitors move to the hotel bar and several lounge areas. The tour shows both the overview and the details: the large video wall, fireplace, illuminated bar, tables and the interior's colours and materials.

For guests, this helps shape expectations. They can assess in advance whether the atmosphere suits a relaxing overnight stay, a drink, dinner or meeting. For the hotel, the tour also presents the interior design and the relationship between the public spaces.

A spacious suite as part of the story

In addition to the public areas, the tour contains two viewpoints inside a suite. The living room, bedroom and bathroom are spatially connected. This lets future guests see more than separate detail photos: the tour makes the layout, circulation space and proportions between the different zones easy to understand.

The bathroom includes a freestanding whirlpool bath, walk-in shower, washbasins and seating. From the other viewpoint, the sleeping area, lounge and carefully chosen interior details are visible. This transparent presentation helps guests choose a room type more confidently.

More confidence and better preparation

A virtual hotel tour can support several stages of the customer journey. Travellers explore a room, organisers assess the appearance of a venue and restaurant guests gain an initial impression of the ambience. Because visitors look around independently, they remain actively engaged with what they see.

The tour is accessible at any time on desktop, tablet and smartphone. Interested guests do not have to wait for a physical tour and can explore the spaces together with a travel companion. For business bookings, the same visual information can help teams discuss a venue choice more quickly.

The collaboration with Van der Valk

Zien360 created virtual presentations for the Van der Valk hotels in Haarlem and Leeuwarden. Each location could present its own rooms and atmosphere online. The current case opens the still-working public tour of Hotel Haarlem. The existing URL remains unchanged, as does the previously configured redirect from the old, broken Van der Valk link.
