A virtual tour does not have to start indoors. For Nunhems, we photographed trial fields in Spain. Five viewpoints show beds of different lettuce types and their surroundings.
Out in the field
The viewpoints relate to the lettuce types on the site. The tour identifies iceberg, little gem, romaine, batavia and baby leaf, among others. Visitors can go directly to a particular part of the field.
The panoramas show crop rows, paths and surrounding greenhouses together. This spatial context is missing from a close-up photograph of a single plant or leaf.

Visitors choose a viewpoint and look around before moving to another part of the field. They can examine the layout at their own pace.
